About Me

Hello friends! I'm running for election to the Cranford Township Committee because I love making new friends, and to make sure our governance fulfills the wishes of our residents and not the other way around. My father was raised in Port. Richmond, and I grew up in Massachusetts. When I was very young I would travel around the country participating in Judo tournaments and was great friends with several young champions from Cranford Judo Club which is world renowned. Later I began wrestling and studied a lot in high school. Tired of all the physical and mental demands I turned my sights toward beer parties at University of Florida where I met my future wife sophomore year.

I then traveled to South America with friends and ended up staying for several years although I never liked the beach much, too much sun for my head. I preferred the forest. I taught ESL to executives in multinational companies and to teenagers too. I got to see how similar different countries are to ours and how different as well.

Eventually I returned to the U.S. to Los Angeles where I produced and hosted comedy and music shows. It was a fun time, and I learned all about the entertainment industry and got to meet all the big names and parties. I liked L.A. but it was mostly a driving town and I like meeting people. Also I missed a more family oriented place, maybe I knew I would soon be ready to have children. Wherever I lived I always missed the Northeast for the personality and conversations.

On my way back I spent some time in Kentucky picking tobacco and speaking with field cows. Then 6 months in Asheville NC, a very mellow place with beautiful mountains. When my grandfather passed on to heaven, I helped my mother with his home and brought her back to Portsmouth, NH. While there I gave a call to my beloved college girlfriend from Florida and to my amazement she just so happened to be in Portsmouth by way of NYC that very weekend on business. Amazing! Within weeks we were engaged and I followed her to Manhattan.

NYC is busy and I am slow. I stayed in the apartment with our young children which was wonderful while they were very small, since it is important to always have eyes on them, and with only 2 rooms it was helpful. We lived across from the U.N. building. When I decided to look for a town to move to I drove through Long island, Westchester, and North Jersey. I did not know the area. Although I saw nice homes and downtowns all the suburbs to me still felt agitated like the city. Then one day we visited my childhood friend living in Cranford by luck as my wife had a work meeting in Kenilworth. On my first drive through town I immediately felt at peace and ease. Here was a real town with a real calm. I couldn't tell I was anywhere near the city, couldn't feel it at all.

Look forward to building on the peace and stability all the residents before and with us have built and continuing to lead and show others what it means to have community. Dedicated to them and to you. Sincerely

  3. It was a pleasure speaking with you today. I grew up in Cranford, raised my children in Cranford, and would like to see my grandchildren grow up in Cranford. I would like Cranford to have any sense of the community it once had. I like your vision for the future of Cranford. I wish you the best in November. I would like to know if we are allowed to put political signs on our lawns in Cranford? If so, do you have William Thilly signs for purchase or through donation that I can put on my lawn?
